Russian plane with 224 passengers onboard crashes over Sinai, Egypt
The plane was carrying 212 passengers and 7 crew members. 17 of the passengers are children.
Airbus A321 left Sharm-El-Sheikh for St. Petersburg with flight number 7K9268. It belongs to airline Metrojet and was 18.5 years old and was descending with about 6000 feet per minute just before signal was lost. The captain told ATC after departure of a technical fault and requested a route change.
Local media says a recovery team is now at the site of the crash.

Some of the motorists, which included a pregnant woman, were seen by eyewitnesses being carried out of their vehicles in frantic bids to resuscitate them.
The traffic congestions were said to have been caused by accidents involving trailers conveying goods on the roads.Although no life was lost in the two accidents, the trailers blocked the roads and rendered them impassable for hours.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident occurred around 5am at the Arepo U-turn.
An Iveco truck, with number plate, Kano XB 103 FG, conveying soya beans to Ibadan, Oyo State, crashed against the median at the U-turn.
It was learnt that the propeller of the vehicle had snapped and the driver had lost control of the truck when the accident happened.Our correspondent learnt that the traffic stretched as far as Ikeja, Lagos.
A victim, who asked not to be named, said he spent about four hours on the road and had struggled to drive himself safely to the office.
He said,
“I had got to Ikeja, when I realised there was traffic congestion on the expressway. I tried to drive through the inner roads, but as I was about to burst out at Berger, I discovered the road was completely blocked.
“I started feeling dizzy at that point but I tried to pull through and drive through the traffic. As I drove into my office compound, I lost control of myself and people started pouring water on my head.”
A witness, who identified himself as Idris, said he observed a passenger in an interstate bus being fanned after she passed out.
He said,
“I was in a bus on the Warewa bridge when I saw people fanning a woman, who had passed out. I could not wait to see if she made it or not.”
Another witness, Motunrayo, said a pregnant woman in a commercial bus was observed vomiting.
“She could not bear it any longer. She kept vomiting as people tried hard to save her. She vomited to the point that she became weak. I just hope she did not die,” she said.
A road contractor, Arowolo Oloyede, said he had lost a contract worth millions of naira as a result of the traffic snarl.
He said, “I just lost a business worth millions of naira now. I have been on this road since 8am and I am just arriving at the accident point at 1pm. I think there is no point again. I have parked my car at the roadside and will be turning back.”
Governor Obiano calls on FG to save the Onitsha-Enugu expressway from erosion
The Governor made the call, yesterday, October 29, while inspecting the havoc being wreaked by the erosion on the road.
He disclosed that he has contacted the President after inspecting the site recently, mandated IDC construction firm to mobilize to site and start palliative work, to save the road.
He stated that the federal government owes the state an outstanding twenty-five billion naira spent on the reconstruction of federal roads in the state, a reason why it must get permission from the federal government before embarking on palliative work on the site.
The Governor made it clear that the state alone cannot undertake the erosion project which will run into billions of naira, and advised the citizenry to bear with the state while it pressurizes the federal government to come to its aid.

Confirmation of ministerial nominees, clear indication there's no more division within APC family - APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the confirmation of all the ministerial nominees by the Senate, despite some misgivings by the opposition, has shown clearly that there is no longer any division within the APC family. ”The cohesion and unity exhibited by the APC Senators on Thursday have shown that our legislators are ready to work with the executive and the party to ensure that the the agenda of the party is implemented for the benefit of all Nigerians,” the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
”We commend all our members and leaders in the Senate and indeed the leadership of the APC for this show of unity,” it said. APC said democracy was clearly at work in the Senate on Thursday, despite the decision of the opposition PDP Senators to stage a walk out over the confirmation of former Gov. Chibuike Amaechi. ”It is part of democracy that while the minority can have their say, the majority will have their way. Therefore, the decision of the PDP Senators to walk out is nothing but democracy in action,” the party said.
It enjoined the entire National Assembly to continue to work with the executive arm of government for the overall interest of Nigeria and its people. ”With the stage now set for the federal cabinet to be in place, we implore all Nigerians, irrespective of their party affiliation, to support President Muhammadu Buhari in his onerous task of making Nigeria great again,” APC said

Obafemi Martins: Striker wins first Nigeria call-up in over two years
Striker Obafemi Martins has won his first Nigeria call-up since March 2013 after being named in the squad to face Swaziland in a World Cup qualifier.
Martins admitted he was surprised to be in coach Sunday Oliseh's 23-man group for the two-legged tie, which will be played on 13 and 17 November.
The 31-year-old told BBC Sport: "It was a bit of a shock, but a nice shock.
"I'm very happy, because I have always worked hard, supported and respected all the players picked by the coaches."
Martins was last called up by Nigeria in March 2013 for a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Kenya.
Despite being his country's most in-form striker last year, alongside Ikechukwu Uche, he was omitted from the Brazil 2014 squad.
However his good form has continued this season - he has struck 15 goals for MLS side Seatlle Sounders - and Martins is determined to make the most of his Super Eagles recall.
"I thank coach Oliseh for this great opportunity. I'm just looking forward to going out there and playing for Nigeria again," he said.
Another player returning to the international fold is Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, who missed Nigeria's last competitive game against Tanzania in September due to suspension.
Former Nigeria international Oliseh has also kept faith in English Premier League trio of John Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo and Alex Iwobi.
But there is no place in the squad for West Ham's Victor Moses, who pulled out of Nigeria's friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon two weeks ago.
Swaziland will hoist the first leg of the World Cup qualifier in Lobamba, with the return leg at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The winner will advance to the final group phase to decide Africa's five representatives at the tournament in Russia.

Prostitut.e in Enugu dies after sleeping with three men
A commercial sex worker, simply identified as Roseline, has been confirmed dead by the Enugu State Police Command in a brothel.
DAILY POST gathered that the deceased died on Sunday morning at a brothel in Obollo-Afor, Udenu Council Area, after marathon sex with three customers.
The spokesman of the Enugu State command of the Nigeria Police, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident said one Ikechukwu Oga has been arrested in connection with the death.
A source disclosed that Ikechukwu had gone in for his turn, after two other customers, adding that on the process, Roseline died.
Also, according to Amaraizu, Ikechukwu, who is now the suspect “had gone to a brothel where he met with the commercial sex worker identified as Roseline in a brothel at Obollo-Afor in Udenu Local government Area of Enugu state and agreed for a sex deal.”
The statement further disclosed that the suspect bargained with Roseline and was asked to come back later as someone was already on the line. When he came back, he discovered that she was still having a sex deal with another customer; Roseline told him to exercise patience as both were going to sleep till day break.”
After allegedly concluding with the second customer, she now invited the suspect into the room for his turn.
However, Ikechukwu denied any wrong doing, maintaining that “I did not conclude my first round of the deal before she complained that she was tired and that was in the midnight of today (Sunday); I had to come down and that was the last. I cannot say what led to her death.”
